Legal Notice (Specified Commercial Transactions Act)

The following information is provided under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions of Japan for the paid services of YSM (Your Smiling Memories): printed Books, Calendars, the City Map and Paid Plans.

Prices are shown in Japanese yen (JPY). Prices in your local currency are shown before purchase.

Price: printed Books: Hardcover, landscape. The number of pages varies between 24 and 296 depending on the number of photos, and prices are set for each page range (up to 24, 25-50, 51-100, 101-200 and 201-296 pages). Prices include tax and shipping and are shown before you order, in the currency of the delivery country or region.
Price: Calendars: Wall Calendar (A4 landscape, 13 sheets) and Postcard Calendar (postcard size, 13 sheets, with a case). Prices include tax and shipping and are shown on the order screen before you order, in the currency of the delivery country or region. The countries and regions where Calendars are sold are also shown on the order screen.
Price: Paid Plans: Prices in Japan (tax included): in-app purchase on the App Store and Google Play, Plus JPY 600 per month / JPY 5,800 per year, Pro JPY 1,200 per month / JPY 11,800 per year; on the Website, Plus JPY 530 per month / JPY 5,100 per year, Pro JPY 1,050 per month / JPY 10,400 per year (lower than in-app purchase prices). Prices outside Japan are shown in the local currency on the Website's pricing page or on each store's purchase screen. If you subscribe to Pro for the first time, the first month is free, whichever channel and whether monthly or annual billing you choose (once per account).
Price: City Map: A one-time purchase of JPY 480 in Japan (tax included). Sold only as an in-app purchase on the App Store and Google Play. Outside Japan, the price in the local currency of each country or region is shown on each store's purchase screen. One purchase per account, usable for as long as the Service is provided. Also included in the Paid Plans (Plus and Pro), excluding Pro Invited Members.
Price: Book Vouchers and Gift Cards: Book Vouchers: a pack of 3 is priced at the price of 3 Books in the smallest page range (up to 24 pages) less 10%, and a pack of 6 at the price of 6 such Books less 15% (tax included, in the currency of the delivery country or region at the time of purchase, shown on the purchase screen). Valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. Gift Cards: the amount chosen by the purchaser. Valid for 3 years from the date of receipt.
Provided free of charge: The digital version of Trip Books, and country and state/prefecture maps, are free to use.
Shipping: Free (included in the price of Books and Calendars, including when sent as a gift to a different address). For deliveries outside Japan, customs duties or import taxes may be charged on receipt, depending on the country or region.
Other charges: Apart from the internet connection charges needed to use the Service (borne by the customer), there are no other charges.
Discounts: If you buy two or more copies of the same Book in one order, or a one-year Book split into two volumes, each copy from the second onward is discounted by 10% (for a two-volume Book, the second volume is discounted by 10%). As a referral discount, we issue 15% discount coupons (for one Book, usable only towards the price of Books). Customers on the Pro plan can purchase Books at a 10% discount. A Calendar purchased together with a Book is discounted by 10% (not available in some countries and regions; this is shown on the order screen). Discounts cannot be combined; for each Book, only the single largest applicable discount is applied. Detailed conditions are set out in Article 13 of the Terms of Service.
Payment method: Books, Calendars, Book Vouchers and Gift Cards: credit card (payment service: Stripe). Paid Plans: credit card (Stripe) on the Website, or in-app purchase on the App Store or Google Play. City Map: in-app purchase on the App Store or Google Play.
Payment timing: Books and Calendars: paid at the time of order (prepayment). City Map: paid at the time of purchase, as set by the App Store or Google Play. Paid Plans: if you subscribe to Pro for the first time, the first month is free. The fee for the first period is paid on the last day of the free period, and thereafter automatically on each renewal date. If you have used a free period before, the fee for the first period is paid when you subscribe. For in-app purchases, billing follows the rules of Apple or Google. The date your card is charged depends on your card issuer.
Delivery timing: Books and Calendars: Made to order. Shipped within 7 days of the date payment is completed. Delivery usually takes 6-9 days from the order date within Japan and 8-14 days from the order date outside Japan. The countries and regions to which we can deliver are shown on the order screen.
Delivery before the end of the year: If you would like delivery before the end of the year, please order by the cut-off date for your country or region (December 14 for Japan; for other countries and regions, shown on the order screen). We will make every effort to deliver before the end of the year but cannot guarantee it.
Service start: Paid Plans: Available immediately after you subscribe (including during the free period).
Service start: City Map: Available immediately after the in-app purchase is completed.
Offer period: If we offer sales or discounts for a limited period, the period will be shown on the sales page and order screen. Referral coupons are valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
Cancellations and returns: Books and Calendars: Books and Calendars are made to order. Once an order is confirmed, we cannot accept cancellations, returns or exchanges for the customer's own reasons. For printing defects or damage, see "Defective items or items different from your order".
Cancellations and returns: Book Vouchers and Gift Cards: We cannot accept cancellations or refunds after purchase (except where a refund is required by law).
Cancellations and returns: City Map: Because the City Map is digital content that can be used immediately after purchase, we cannot accept cancellations or refunds for the customer's own reasons. Refund requests follow the procedures set by Apple or Google. Only if you are unable to use it for reasons attributable to the seller will we arrange a refund, working with Apple or Google as far as possible.
Defective items or items different from your order: If there are printing defects, missing pages or pages in the wrong order, or damage in transit, or if you receive a Book or Calendar with photos different from your order, please contact us within 8 days of delivery with photos showing its condition. We will send you a reprinted item or refund the price (any amount paid with a Gift Card or Book Vouchers is returned to the balance or as Book Vouchers). If an item needs to be returned, the seller bears the shipping cost. For defects that are difficult to find on delivery (such as binding coming apart), please contact us as soon as possible after you find them.
Paid Plans: term and renewal: There is no fixed term; plans renew automatically until cancelled (monthly plans every month, annual plans every year). If you subscribe to Pro for the first time, the first month is free whether you choose monthly or annual billing (once per account), and the fee for the first period is paid on the last day of the free period. Approximate amounts payable (based on prices in Japan; outside Japan, the prices shown on the store's purchase screen or the Website's pricing page apply). Amounts are for in-app purchase, with Website amounts in brackets: Plus monthly, JPY 7,200 per year (Website JPY 6,360). Plus annual, JPY 5,800 each year (Website JPY 5,100). Pro monthly, JPY 13,200 for the first year when subscribing for the first time (Website JPY 11,550; both 11 months, excluding the free month), and JPY 14,400 per year from the second year (Website JPY 12,600). Pro annual, JPY 11,800 each year after the free month (Website JPY 10,400).
Paid Plans: cancellation: You can cancel at any time: for Website subscriptions, from the Settings screen or the Website; for in-app purchases, from your App Store or Google Play account settings. For in-app purchases, cancellation and refunds follow the terms and procedures of Apple or Google. There is no cancellation fee. If you cancel during the free period, you will not be charged (and you can use the plan until the free period ends). If you cancel, your plan ends when the period you have paid for expires. If you cancel before the next renewal date, you will not be charged for the next period. If you cancel partway through a period, no pro rata refund is made (except where the seller was unable to provide the features for reasons attributable to the seller, and where the Service is ended). If you close your account during a Paid Plan period, the plan also ends at that time (for in-app purchases, closing your account does not stop automatic renewal, so please cancel in the store).
Special conditions of sale: We decline to produce Books or Calendars with content that violates laws or the Terms of Service, and refund the full price. Colours on screen may differ slightly from print. Photos of low original quality may print coarsely. For gifts, a packing slip without prices is enclosed.
System requirements: Available in the apps distributed on the App Store and Google Play (iPhone with iOS 15 or later, and Android smartphones with Android 6.0 or later). Paid Plans can be subscribed to in the app (in-app purchase) or on the YSM website (the website is available in the latest versions of major browsers such as Safari and Google Chrome).
